Schools or group of schools that join our Trust receive support before, during and after the process to ensure a smooth and successful transition. This allows head teachers, teachers, governors and parents alike to do what they do best; helping children succeed in a happy and caring environment.
I experienced more quality professional development in the first term after joining the Trust than I had in the previous nine years as a stand-alone Headteacher, supporting me to develop as an Executive Head and to take on my current role.
The primary school years are where you capture a child's imagination and attention and bring them together to give them a love of learning, and I can work with the Academy and Trust in this developmental process to help create a stronger education system.
Our school has never looked back since joining this Trust. It was the best decision that we, as Governors, ever made.
Our Trust was structured to grow through clear systems of educational leadership and strategic governance. We are a values-led, educational excellence partnership. Our growth strategy is rooted in school improvement, with like-minded schools, that share the same vision, values, aspirations and ethos of working together in mutual support and challenge. Together, we can and do deliver more than we ever could individually.
Since 2011, we have grown steadily and cautiously, from being a single academy in Torbay, to our current family of 8 academies and nurseries currently clustered around 3 regional Hubs across Torbay and Devon.
We are opening a brand new primary academy and nursery, St Michael’s C of E Academy, in Paignton in September 2020.
Since joining the Trust, all of our academies have continued to improve year on year to deliver on our promise of exceptional schools for local communities. Alongside our School to School Support approach, the Trust has continued to build a central team that empowers each academy to deliver strong school improvement capacity. Our approach has always been to build this capacity ahead of need, to ensure the benefits and outcomes for our academies are strong.

Together, we have an opportunity to improve the educational system. Outstanding leaders and teachers at all levels are key in facilitating school to school support. Bespoke, immediate and individual support for teachers with immersion in outstanding teaching and learning and the sharing and development of outstanding practice, has meant that improvement is rapid.Find out more

We offer a targeted programme of bespoke CPD for the whole school workforce and beyond. Modelling and coaching of high quality Teaching and Learning utilising the skills of our outstanding teachers, Specialist Leaders of Education [SLEs] and other leaders from within the LAP.Find out more
Shared structures, systems and procedures to ensure that there are consistent high quality policies and practices that operate across the partnership. Shared Governance with a high level skill base.
