St Michael’s pupils visiting Paignton Parish Church

Our children had the opportunity to visit Paignton Parish Church came about as part of the academy’s RE curriculum and the close links the academy has as a Church of England school. Julie Edwards, head of academy at St Michael’s Church of England Academy, said: “The children found the size of the church staggering; one child commented that the stained-glass windows were ‘painted with rainbow colours that the sun could shine through. It was a great opportunity for all our children to have a chance to explore this magnificent church building that has served the Paignton community for generations. The visit forms part of our wider religious education offering that enables us to teach our pupils all about the world around them to promote inclusivity and to strengthen our ties as a Church of England academy.”
