We are delighted to welcome Dartington C of E Academy to our Trust family on 1st April 2021.
The Trust has been supporting Dartington since July 2019, so a strong working relationship has already been established and pupils, parents and staff are all excited to formally join the Learning Academy Partnership.
During the period that the Trust has supported the school, it has helped Dartington to develop an exciting curriculum offer which really reflects the interests of the community that Dartington serves. Pupils have been given lots of practical experiences and the opportunity to learn the full breadth of subjects, with leaders from academies across the Trust contributing their expertise.
Dartington has huge outdoor areas including an orchard, a multi-use games area, a large playground and a field, and the Learning Academy Partnership has helped them to take full advantage of these facilities, with all pupils now participating in Forest School once a week. The Trust has also supported Dartington to improve its outdoor learning areas as well as its PE provision.
Charlotte Huish, Head of Academy at Dartington said:
“I am so proud of what we have achieved and Dartington has benefited enormously from the support and development it has had from the Trust. The team and parents could not have been anymore supportive. I am excited to continue in the role of Head of Academy and it is reassuring to know that the future of Dartington is secure now that is part of the Learning Academy Partnership.”
Lynn Atkinson, Chief Executive at the Learning Academy Partnership said:
“Having worked closely with Dartington over the past couple of years to support the school in the amazing progress it has made, we’re so pleased that it is now officially becoming part of the Trust. I’m looking forward to seeing it continue to grow as an academy and become more integrated into the Learning Academy Partnership family.”
A parent at Dartington said:
“I am really pleased and congratulated the school on the academisation. There have been changes over the past two years but these have all been in the best interest of the children and the curriculum offer. The key things that make Dartington special have been celebrated and it is lovely to see how the school is improving whilst keeping these special points too.”
