Site Supervisor
Permanent – 37 Hours Per Week / Full Time
NJC Grade D (Torbay) 5-6 (£10.01 – £10.21 per hour)
Required as soon as possible

We are seeking to recruit within our Estates Team a Site Supervisor based at Dartington C of E Primary School & Nursery.  Working as part of a small team you will predominantly be responsible for ensuring that the site premises and facilities are maintained in a good, safe and clean working order (buildings, grounds, landscape and facilities) and meets the needs of children, staff and visitors.

Dartington is a modern school set in a fantastic location with outstanding grounds. Built in 2018, each of the 12 classrooms open onto outside space including the stunning Forest School area.

Experience of working with children is not essential, just the passion to help improve the life chances of children within a school environment.

This position does not normally include split-shift working, however, flexibility is required to meet the needs of the position.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out minor building fabric repairs, adjustments, maintenance, installations and removals
  • Undertake and record weekly checks and record works carried out
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed on time and to Health & Safety standards
  • Ensuring the site is well maintained and well presented at all times (Daily cleaning and litter picking and replacing consumables)
  • Manage site security, unlocking and locking of all doors, entries and exits – ensuring the site is secure but accessible at all times
  • Liaising with and monitoring the work of contractors including cleaner contractors
  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, customers and clients alike reporting any incident that may adversely affect service delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Managing and supervising cleaning staff

  • Committed to achieving high standards in their work
  • Honest, reliable and hardworking and able to work using their own initiative
  • Good at prioritising and meeting deadlines and to work independently
  • Have good DIY and premises skills and be able to carry out minor repairs and jobs competently
  • Confident to supervise and monitor the work of cleaning staff
  • Willing to attend relevant courses to develop their expertise
  • Punctual and have good record keeping skills
  • Flexible and cheerful and enjoy working with children, parents and staff
  • A good team player and willing to become involved in all aspects of school life
