Welcome to Little Stars Childcare Centre.
Little Stars Childcare Centre was established by the Learning Academy Partnership in Summer 2012, shortly after the local primary school, Ellacombe Academy, joined the Learning Academy Partnership (LAP) Trust. Establishing Little Stars, was in response to local parental need and to ensure that children in Ellacombe community, had the best possible advantage to enable them to get off to a flying start so that they would be ready to start school, successfully at 4 years of age. An initial investment by the Trust, in transforming a run down church hall, saw a 26 place nursery open and welcome 3 year olds, in September 2012.
Just a year later, Little Stars was inspected by Ofsted and judged Outstanding in every area. Since this time , Little Stars has continued to go from strength to strength.
Little Stars works closely with other schools in the LAP, especially Ellacombe Church of England Academy. In September 2016, its legal status was changed when it officially became an extended nursery provision with Ellacombe Academy.
During the summer 2017, Little Stars are operating from one of our LAP schools, Warberry C of E Academy, as we are currently in the process of a £1million rebuild at the Little Stars site. The new state of the art Little Stars Child Care centre is due to reopen in its new premises in autumn 2017 and will cater for up to 60 children aged 2, 3 and 4 years old.
We have a vision of our Childcare Centre as a productive, stimulating, nurturing and rich learning environment in which children and staff experience equal opportunity in all things in order that their true potential is realised. Little Stars is a caring friendly place where children feel happy, safe and comfortable to learn and develop the necessary skills for a life long joy of learning.
We aim to provide a caring, disciplined and stimulating environment, in which our children can feel secure, happy and proud. We respect every child and are committed to nurturing every aspect of his or her development – intellectual, creative, emotional, physical and spiritual. We will ensure the safety of every child and will promote opportunities to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.
