The Learning Academy Partnership Trust is a highly successful, inclusive, multi academy trust that was established in the summer of 2012 from its origins as a National Support School, Ilsham C of E Academy.
The Trust has a Church of England foundation which is fully inclusive and welcoming of both Church and Community schools. Admission criteria to all of our schools is fully inclusive, welcoming those of all faiths or none.
As a successful MAT, we are also accredited as a strong partner by the Department for Education and we are approved to welcome schools in all Ofsted categories.
The Vision and Core purpose of our Trust schools is to Transform Children’s Lives by working together as a values led family of exceptional schools, delivering an entitlement to a world class education across all our local communities and where every child flourishes . We believe that every young person, regardless of their background or context, can achieve and exceed the highest of expectations. Our Trust , without exception, delivers that promise.
Intentional Design: Since 2012 we have grown steadily and cautiously, from being a single academy in Torbay, to our current family of academies across our 3 regional hubs: Torbay Area , Newton Abbot and Teign Area and The South Hams Area. In 2014 we were designated as a National Teaching School All Saints Teaching School Alliance. Our growth strategy is rooted in school improvement: working with aspirational schools from all Ofsted categories; united through shared vision and values and working together in mutual support and challenge. Together, we can and do deliver more than we ever could individually.
We passionately believe in a school led model of system leadership and improvement; our outcomes speak for themselves. Together we are creating a world class education of exceptional schools, across all of our local communities.
Together we are realising exceptional schools with; happy children; excellent pupil achievement; enhanced curriculum opportunities for our children and families; a gold model (Teacher Development Trust) professional development entitlement for our staff; better financial efficiencies.
Together we are greater than the sum of our individual parts; empowering one another to deliver an entitlement to an excellent school for every child and for all of our communities .
Our values drive all that we do together. We share a commitment that none of our schools will ever be vulnerable, as we work together in collective strength, shared responsibility and accountability. It is this collective passion, responsibility and accountability that makes us unique and the way in which all our staff work together for the benefit of every child across our trust.
Through our work as a National Support School, Teaching School Alliance and through joint practice development, we know that schools improve rapidly and can sustain the richness of experience, achieving more when they work together in School to School Support; interdependence and partnership. Our Trust schools, whilst enjoying the benefits that our teaching school brings, go beyond collaboration; we work in structural partnerships, with shared responsibility and shared accountability, to be able to do the things that will bring or sustain outstanding provision for all our children.

Our Track Record. The Learning Academy Partnership has a strong and effective Trust structure of deep collaboration that delivers rapid improvement and effectiveness at all levels. Our staff and governance work together to achieve more than we ever could individually, this is born out in our track record of transformational change and improvement across every school.
Since joining the LAP, all of our schools have continued to improve, year on year, to deliver our shared promise of exceptional schools for every local communities.
It is my very great privilege, as the Chief Executive Officer and founding Headteacher of the Learning Academy Partnership, to work with such talented and dedicated staff and to see all of our schools flourish; enriching the lives of the children, the families and the communities that we serve. I am immensely proud of all that we are achieving together, as co-constructors in a school led system of improvement.
